Division of Wildlife (“CDOW”) as a prosecutor. Since
entering private practice, Mr. Howard has worked on several
large wildlife cases involving multiple felony charges
at both the State and Federal level. |

Mr.
Howard defends those charged with “Title 33” violations
including the following:
- Failing To Wear Florescent Orange
- Shooting From A Public Road
- Hunting Under The Influence
- Hunting With Artificial Light
- Illegal Sale Of Wildlife
- Waste Of Edible Game
- Willful Destruction Of Wildlife
- Illegal Outfitting
- Illegal Hunt
- Illegal Taking
- Illegal Possession
- “Lacey Act” violations
- CDOW Administrative Hearings - Hunting License Suspension
For example, if a hunter mistakenly shoots an elk on private
property without permission, then has the elk transported
over state lines (from Colorado to Texas for instance)
for processing; that hunter can face a myriad of State
and Federal charges. Violation of the Lacey Act alone
can result in civil penalties up to $10,000 per each violation
or maximum criminal sanctions of $20,000 in fines and/or
up to five years imprisonment.
